My bicycling friend "did" suggested a morning off to go for a little bike ride in Whitehall. The trail is on land the Owasippe Boyscout group owns. I have a decent Mountain Bike and haven't been on a trail in a few years so I decided to take the morning off and head out with did and my bike coach Mike. There were two things I forgot about Mountain Biking, how much I enjoy it and how demanding it is! It was all I could do to try to keep up with did and Mike! Hopefully they didn't mind waiting up for me a few times. There were really some beautiful spots out there, I really liked the spot where it snuggles right up to the shoreline. I'm not used to having to dodge trees and decend dirt hills but after a while I got used to it and started moving a little faster. There was also an open spot among some large trees that I really liked. The only spots that made me nervous were the 3 bridges. 2 of them aren't more than a couple feet wide made with 2 x 4's and the third is a bunch of logs roped together. Keep the forward momentum and cross your fingers! (actually I kept all my fingers tightly wrapped around my handlebar grips!)I'm a little sore in a couple spots I'm not used to using so much. My posterior isn't used to a normal bicycle seat anymore. Hopefully we'll get out and do that again, I enjoyed it!
